Children and youth come into care for a number of reasons:
Neglect
Abuse
Family violence
Parental difficulties
Some children and youth:
Are new born up to 16 years of age
Are brothers and sisters
Are culturally and religiously diverse
Have short and/or long term medical needs
Have emotional, mental and / or physical challenges
All children and youth:
Need care, warmth and acceptance
Need consistency, structure and guidance
